LIP CARE 101: THIS INFLUENCER REVEALS THE 3 DO’S & DON’TS THAT COULD MAKE OR BREAK YOUR LIPS

Similar to the skin, the lips require just as much attention and care to stay moisturised, healthy and glowing throughout the day.

However, the daily habits can either improve or worse your overall lip health. If you’re curious to know what they are, this influencer reveals them down below.

Shared on her Instagram page, syahirafarzana uploaded a reel to remind everyone the 3 Do’s & Don’ts when it comes to lip care routine. They are:

#1 Don’t: Lick your lips

She started off by reminding everyone to stop the habit of licking the lips every so often. To further explain, the saliva doesn’t do any good for the lips (as they contain digestive enzymes). In fact, it could do the opposite and further dry your lips.

#1 Do: Apply lip balm all the time

Instead, she said to opt for moisturising lip balm. This would help to soften and lock in moisture to the lips. 

#2 Don’t: Peel off your chapped lips

Syahira also can’t stress enough the downside of peeling the dried skin on your lips. 

This is because it can cause microtears and worsen your lip conditions. 

2 Do: Exfoliate regularly

She advised to switch to using lip scrubs to help tackle those pesky dried skin on the lips. 

A lip scrub with natural ingredients such as; Brown sugar, shea butter, extra virgin coconut oil and sweet almond oil is perfect to exfoliate the lips while keeping it soft and nourished. She also highly recommends the Conditioning Lip Polish by SKINEATS

#3 Don’t: Skip SPF for your lips

“This is something many overlook…”, skipping SPF is a definite ‘No’ for Syahira. Sun exposure causes the lips to appear dull and dark. It even worsens your lips! 

#3 Do: Apply lip balm with SPF when you’re out

So, never forget the SPF for the lips. She also loves a tinted lip balm that gives her lips the perfect shade of pink so it looks natural but better!
